Value Addition and market linkages

Nile Agro-Tech has been involved in number of activities that add value to local products this includes; packaging, transportation and mini processing. This program is intended to improve income and employment of youth to participate in agribusiness. With self-finance funds, we have been dealing in maize grains purchase from the local farmers, packaging and linking to large buyers.

Over the past two years between 2019 to 2021 Nile Agro-Tech and Seed Company limited has provided market opportunities to over 2000 farmers in greater Magwi County procuring over 200 metric tons of maize grain through a self-financed fund that it has liaised with some cooperatives in Greater Magwi and supplied WFP with maize grains. We as well linked farmers to potential buyers in the County. As stretched in the column above our next planned activity for 2021 is milling of graded flour and packaging in different affordable quantities and prices for the local market to benefit from and offer employment opportunities to the youth and women throughout the process.
